HOLY SPIRIT PART 8

We've all experienced those moments while reading Scripture when we stumble upon a verse that stops us cold, sending shivers down our spine and causing us to question everything. Matthew 12:31-32 is precisely that kind of passage, where Jesus speaks about the unforgivable sin of blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. This message unpacks one of the most misunderstood and fear-inducing concepts in all of Scripture, bringing much-needed clarity and peace to anxious hearts. Through the context of Jesus confronting the Pharisees who accused Him of operating under Satan's power, we discover that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit isn't what most of us fear it might be. It's not a slip of the tongue when we stub our toe, not a moment of doubt like Thomas experienced, and certainly not something we can commit accidentally. Instead, it's a willful, defiant attribution of the Holy Spirit's work to Satan, combined with a hardened heart that refuses reconciliation with God. The beautiful truth emerges: if we're worried we've committed this sin, we haven't. If we desire forgiveness and reconciliation with God, we're still in His reach. Throughout all of Scripture, there's never been a single instance where someone who turned to God with genuine repentance was refused forgiveness. This message reminds us that God never gives up on us, and our value to Him means He never stops pursuing our hearts.
