REFRESH: DAY 1 - SUNDAY NIGHT

What does it truly mean to follow Jesus, not just believe in him? This message cuts straight to the heart of that question, drawing us into a searching examination of our faith through the story of the rich young ruler in Matthew 19. Here was a man who had kept the commandments, lived a moral life, and still sensed something was missing. His honest question, 'What do I still lack?' becomes an invitation for all of us to take stock of where we actually stand in our walk with God. The message challenges us to move beyond a faith that is merely about securing a destination and into one that is a daily, costly, transforming lifestyle. We are reminded that Jesus told his disciples the way that leads to life is narrow and difficult, and that few find it. That is not a discouraging word but a clarifying one. It calls us to stop settling for a comfortable, low-demand version of Christianity and start pursuing the kind of maturing, deepening relationship with Christ that Paul describes in Philippians 3, where he counted everything else as loss for the sake of knowing Jesus more fully. The question left ringing in our ears is a personal one: are we following Jesus, or are we simply attending church?
