REFRESH: DAY 2
What does it truly mean to love God with everything we have? This message takes us on a deep dive into one of the most foundational commands in all of Scripture, drawn from Deuteronomy 6:5 and echoed by Jesus in Mark 12:30, where we are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Rather than treating this as a familiar phrase we nod along to, we are challenged to examine each of these four dimensions as distinct positions we must actively choose and maintain. The heart alone carries seven distinct postures worth examining: is our heart fixed and steadfast like concrete, soft and new rather than hardened by fear or pride, guarded against contamination, seeking God wholeheartedly, cheerful like a medicine, pure enough to see God move, and meditating on His Word like a cow chewing its cud, drawing out richer nourishment with every pass? This is not abstract theology. It is a practical inventory of where we actually are versus where we are called to be, and it invites us to let God do the surgery only He is qualified to perform.
