The Light That Leads To Life Part 3

Dec 21, 2025    Pastor Johnny Johnson

In the midst of Christmas celebrations, we're invited to confront a profound truth: many walk through this season in complete darkness, unable to see hope beyond their circumstances. This message draws us into the transformative revelation that Jesus is the light that leads to life—not just any life, but abundant and eternal life. Through the experiences of three witnesses at the first Christmas—Zechariah, the shepherds, and Simeon—we discover what it means to truly encounter divine light. Zechariah, filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied about rescue and redemption, declaring that the morning light from heaven was breaking upon humanity. The shepherds experienced the radiant Shekinah glory surrounding them with good news of great joy. And Simeon, led by the Spirit to the temple, held the infant Jesus and proclaimed Him as the light to reveal God to all nations. Each encounter reminds us that we face a daily choice: will we walk in the light or remain in darkness? Will we choose life or death, blessing or curse? The candlelight service beautifully illustrates this truth—just as one flame can light countless others without diminishing itself, the light of Christ within us is meant to be shared. The more we give it away, the brighter our world becomes. In a culture desperately seeking hope, we carry the responsibility and privilege of being light-bearers, reflecting the glory of the One who came to rescue us from every form of darkness.
